Our Story
Wickid Candle was born out of frustration with the ordinary and a belief that candles could—and should—be better. What started as a personal challenge soon became a mission with passion. I spent months experimenting with different waxes and ingredients, determined to create something that didn’t just smell good but was also safe for both people and the planet.
Through this process, I discovered that the wick is the heart of the candle—the “life” that keeps it burning. When the wick burns out, the candle’s purpose is complete. Similarly, the id is the core of the mind, driving thoughts, desires, and creativity. I always say, the id controls the mind’s processes. By focusing on education and producing quality, non-toxic products, I connect the wick to the id—and that’s how Wickid was born. It’s more than just a name; it’s a philosophy, reminding us to stay mindful, intentional, and fully engaged in everything we do.
After a couple of career setbacks, I found myself at a crossroads. I prayed for direction, and the answer was clear: This was the work I was meant to do. I fully committed to crafting the cleanest-burning candles in the world, using our proprietary blend of organic coconut wax, apricot oil, and beeswax—free from soy, paraffin, and synthetic chemicals.
Today, Wickid Candle is more than just a candle company. It’s a movement toward mindful living, a cleaner planet, and products that inspire wellness and creativity. Each candle is hand-poured with care, because we believe that what we burn in our homes should be as good for us as it is for the earth.
Challenge accepted
It all started during a family trip to Target in 2017. After our regular shopping, my wife found the kids and I on the candle aisle. She asked if there were any candles I liked, to which I told her "No, they're all cheap, boring and feminine."
After listening to my complaining about how uninspired they were, that’s when she hit me with the challenge that changed everything:"If you think you can do better, why don’t you make your own?"And that’s exactly what I did.
OC Made
In January 2018, I participated in a program hosted by OCIESBDC, the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center...called "OC Made".
It was there that I learned the basics of running a business and they helped guide me to form my small business.
