Candle Care & Safety

Thoughtful candle care supports a cleaner, more even burn and helps you enjoy your Wickid Candle safely. Always follow the warning label on the bottom of the jar along with the guidance below.

Before lighting

• Place the candle on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
• Keep the candle away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire.
• Trim the wick to approximately 1/8 inch before each burn. Never allow the wick to remain longer than 1/4 inch.
• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and other debris.
• Do not use a candle if the glass is cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged.

While burning

• Burn within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep away from curtains, bedding, paper, decorations and other flammable materials.
• Avoid drafts and air currents from open windows, fans, vents and high-traffic areas.
• Do not move or handle the candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquid.
• Do not burn the candle for more than four hours at a time.

After extinguishing

• Make sure the flame is completely extinguished and the wick is no longer glowing.
• Allow the wax and vessel to cool completely before handling, trimming the wick or relighting.
• Never use water to extinguish a candle.

When to discontinue use

Stop burning the candle when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. Continuing beyond this point can overheat the vessel and the surface beneath it.
