Candle Care

At Wickid Candle, we want you to get the most out of every burn. Proper candle care not only extends the life of your candles but also ensures a clean, even burn every time. Follow these simple tips to enhance your candle experience and enjoy the full aroma and ambiance of our eco-friendly creations.

Rule #1: Trim the Wick

Proper wick maintenance is essential for a safe, clean, and efficient burn. By trimming the wick to 1/8 inch, you bring the flame closer to the surface of the wax, ensuring a steady fuel supply and preventing an unstable flame. Since wax is the fuel that sustains the combustion process, keeping the flame at the right height helps prevent incomplete combustion.

First Burn Matters

Wax has a memory, so it is important that you burn the candle long enough for the wax to pool evenly across the top to prevent tunneling. Tunneling can lead to shorter life of your candle and increase the overall cost of the product...let it burn 3-4 hours at a time to get the most out of your candle.

Avoid Drafts

Keep the candle away from open windows, fans, high-traffic areas or vents to prevent disturbing the flame. When the flame is disturbed, it interrupts the combustion cycle and creates black smoke (sooting), and uneven burning of the candle.

Keep it in a quiet and safe place away from pets, flammable items such as curtains...and out of the reach of children.
